Already with a plethora of staggering accomplishments in her musical career, it's easy to forget that Rebel Rae is still just making a name for herself in the music industry. Coming off an international tour with Ari Lennox, Rae began further developing her sound leading up to the debut of her first full-length album The View from Down Here last October. The catchiest hook on the album, "Honey Talk" finally gets a vibrant visual treatment to complete the project.
There is a healthy amount of vivaciousness in all of Rae's music. With "Honey Talk" this exists with irresistible heart and wit that make the song bounce around with fire and energy in your headphones. The track functions as an unrelenting danceable cut that is rife with double entendre and slick lyricism that shows Rae at her very best. The visual, filmed in and around Venice Beach, follows Rae and a suitor through a series of dates that don't go as planned. Somewhat of a power struggle for love and attention ends happily for the couple after much back and forth drama.
Although originally from Washington, DC, Rae now calls L.A. her home as she frequently collaborates and performs in the Southern California area. Following her wildly successful debut album, fans are anxious to see where Rae will take her music next and what exciting collaborations are in store for the future.
