SWAYLÓ is an international artist who draws on his multicultural background, worldly (and other worldly) experiences to create music that can be described as, in his own words, "ancient future sound." As an electronic producer, he incorporates a wealth of cultural references into his music, as he has done on his latest single, "Yucatán Dream."
The release schedule of "Yucatán Dream" speaks to SWAYLÓ (Noah De St. Croix) and his connection to a spiritual understanding of his life and the world. Released in conjunction with the full moon cycle, "Yucatán Dream" taps into his roots growing up in New Mexico and Southern Africa, while also tapping into other native sounds from the Americas. At its heart a house track, it ebbs and flows between hip-hop style breaks and melodic tech house sensibilities. Bass and sub are in continuity throughout as flamenco guitars of Mexico, timbale drums from Latin America, steel drums from the Caribbean, the djembe, a drum native to West Africa embed an overall worldly awareness.
To celebrate the its release, SWAYLÓ joined us for an exclusive mix. "This is my LOVE HARDER – deep tech house mixtape exclusive for EARMILK," he says. "I put a lot of new house bangers in here as well as a number of original SWAYLÓ heaters. Hope you enjoy!!"
