LA and London-based duo Tommy Lefroy share their acoustic-driven single "Northern Towns". Overflowing with a gloriously intimate melody, the single captures a cinematic journey of self-discovery.
Blessed with the duo's delicate vocals, the single wraps itself amongst intense melancholia to produce a soothing track about first loves. Despite its delicate nature, "Northern Towns" feels cosy, like it's allowing you to just be calm and simply just feel something for a moment. Its elegant narrative and warming guitars are a dreamy combination that fuels the incredible songwriting talents from the pair. "We started writing this song about nostalgia for first loves and the places we grew up," they explain. "It became this realization that qualities we were drawn to in partners were really just things we were hoping to find in ourselves."
It's hard to not have this on repeat constantly when with every new listen you find another masterpiece moment. Tommy Lefroy (yes, that's a take on Jane Austen's supposed love interest) have crafted such a lush and precious single with "Northern Towns", and I cannot wait to see where this journey takes them.
