Sam Dew has released his third new single, “DJ” part of a trio of music videos with a continuing storyline. The Chicago Singer-songwriter is best known for his collaborations with top artists like Rihanna, Mary J. Blige, and Jack Antonoff. Dew’s style is a revitalized R&B fit for the modern age. “DJ” is the final video of the series, after “NTWFL” and “GONE.” The three videos are singles off his forthcoming debut album MOONLIT FOOLS.
The video is dark, but full of vibrant colors and bright lights. These series of vignettes tackle themes of romance, lust, yearning, and the ever-growing grip technology has on our lives. The video features a night scene on a beach, two lovers under the glow of an LED sky. The music is hypnotic, and these surrealist scenes make the music video into an alternate reality with a sense of familiarity.
