Giant Rooks triumphs with richly powerful album “ROOKERY”

Founded in 2015, Giant Rooks is a passion project fueled by its five dedicated members . Influenced by bands such as Two Door Cinema Club and Catfish and the Bottlemen, they have strived to perfect their unique indie pop-rock sound, resulting in their newest album, ROOKERY. With this new release, Giant Rooks abandon convention as they evolve to a more liberated style.

Beginning with “Birth of Worlds”, this cinematic track soars with vast sweeping soundscapes and deep dramatic vocals. Inspired by the album artwork of the members descending from the sky, the track evokes that same breathless feeling of falling. “Watershed” uplifts your spirit with its thrilling arrangements and animated vocals. This tune is the perfect release for embarking into 2021. All about finding light at the end of a dark tunnel, listeners will truly feel inspired by this positive offering. “Heat Up” is an honest love song lit with passionate fire. With lyrical imagery like “for the lovers in the nighttime, they move, they move like fireflies”, they paint a stunning surrealistic picture of the magic of budding romance. The vulnerable offering “Into Your Arms” is the ideal ending for such a striking album. With mesmerizing falsetto atop acoustic guitars and erupting synths, this emotive anthem details the safety felt within your lover’s arms. The outro to the song acts as a cliffhanger, leaving you begging for more.

The German band consists of singer Frederik Rabe, guitarist Finn Schwieters, bassist Luca Göttner, keyboardist Jonathan Wischniowski, and drummer Finn Thomas. Preforming over 350 shows with sold-out concerts in Paris and Rome as well as playing prominent German venues, the group has worked hard to fine-tuned their craft. Giant Rooks show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, bringing that same work ethic with them into 2021.
