After bursting into the scene with her socio-politically charged mixtape It's A W.R.A.P., in 2012, and winning Best Contemporary Upper in the Big Music Project , UK singer/rapper Aina More proceeded to drop For People With Short Attention Spans EP in 2015 before taking a break from music. Fast-forward to 2020 and with this new single "Destiny" and she hasn't lost a pep in her step. The new track sees her working with long-time collaborator Musiek Mambu, who crafts a hard-hitting backdrop for More's no holds barred performance. From an intro that flips an ear-grabbing Seun Kuti sample to the booming basslines and More's devil may care flow, "Destiny" is a pure display of skill, bravado, and a reminder that she is still not one to play with.
The stylish visuals by Oye 2.0 make use of the theme of the track and put More front and center in the mix of things. From behind the scenes set visuals to overly expressive costumes and more, the video aims to showcase More's varied style and charisma as a performer. The track might seem like a one-off for now but it's very likely we should expect more music from her as we venture into 2021.
