Omar Apollo releases new album "Apolonio"

After the announcement of his project last week, Omar Apollo followed up with his debut project, Apolonio. His new album boasts only two features from Kali Uchis and Ruel. Including collab productions with Albert Hammond Jr., MK.gee, DJ Dahi, Teo Halem, and Michael Uzowuru, the 9-track project explores Apollo's versatile artistry.

Apolonio is versatile in composition and production, weaving through sultry sounds and funky production. The self-written and self-produced "Stayback" sounds like something straight off the P-Funk Mothership. "Hey Boy" eases fans into more sultry and acoustic style soundscapes. Leaning on support from Kali Uchi's airy vocals, the sexy lullaby finds the singer lovestruck. Apollo's new project continues to explore heavy R&B and funk artistry. Guitary-heavy production makes the stylized R&B track "Kamikaze" stand out. Coinciding with the smooth cut, he also released a new visual, produced by Aidan Cullen.

Since his 2018 debut EP Stereo, Omar Apollo has continuously put in the work to break into the industry. Though his new album comes at a time when concerts are on hold, Apolonio arrives ahead of his live-stream concert. Airing October 28th, live from Prince's iconic Paisley Park, the concert will feature behind the scenes footage in addition to his live performance. In preparation for his upcoming concert, check out the album up top.
