London-based pop pairing Berne share their new EP Stay—a mesmerizing new project laced with an important climate change narrative. Delving into soft, placid pop intimacies, the five-track EP is a haunting look into the significance of supporting and saving the planet.

Opening with the EP title track, "Stay" is awash with lush drum patterns and melancholic rhythms. An eco-friendly anthem, the single captures emotion through it's layered textures and delicate vocals. The duo's most recent single "Heat" is beautifully woven with warm synths and Lorde-reminiscent hushed vocals which provide a slightly eerie effect. Unearthing other-worldly soundscapes, the track sends you deep into a peaceful trance. Whilst "To The Lions" shares a sleek ballad experience with it's fuzzy electronics, "Oceans" dictates with its ethereal drum patterns to showcase Berne as two very important voices.

"Our debut EP is a reflection of what keeps us up at night," explains the duo. "It comes at a time when humans need to work together towards common goals more than ever. We really believe that small changes will collectively make a big impact and that is a common thread in all the songs."

Exploring the themes of the climate emergency, refugee crisis and animal rights, Berne have created a body of work that intricately weaves important messages within lustrous soundscapes, emitting the only extra the warmth the planet needs with their glowing sonics. Stay is a tender insight into two passionate minds wanting to collectively make a change; it's a call for unity and collective responsibility and it's time we make a change.
