Chicago-based duo DRAMA has soothed souls with their stunning fusion of R&B, jazz, dance, and electronic pop. Following the debut of their first full-length and signing with electronic stalwart Ghostly International, the collaboration between producer Na’el Shehade and singer Via Rosa was propelled to new heights. Dance Without Me expressed emotions through the most thoughtful and chilled melodies. This month, DRAMA announced a release of Dance Without Me remixes by artists they love. Los Angeles daytime disco veterans Poolside take on the track “Nine One One,” for a scintillating rendition.

Incorporating their signature silky, sun-filled sound into the original “Nine One One,” Poolside accents DRAMA’s tender beauty with more lush, organic layers. Poolside seems to make the track sparkle like the sun hitting little waves in water. Their tropical touch ties in seamlessly with the soothing and sensual intentions of the original. Where DRAMA taps into feelings of loneliness and standing on the outside of love, Poolside vacations and sails off into the sunset with those same feelings. It almost offers a bit of peace and resolution.

DRAMA’s Dance Without Me (Remixes) is out now. In addition to Poolside’s remix of “Nine One One,” the EP features remixes of album tracks by rising producer Rezident, German producer Moglii, and Spain’s Pional. Find all four remixes available from Ghostly, or from your favorite streaming or download service.
