Watch out for Demae. The London artist formerly known as Bubblerap and as a member of the group Hawk House is stepping out as a solo artist with a debut LP later this year, led by the single “Stuck in a Daze.” As indicated by the fact that she’s a backing vocalist in Fatima’s touring band, Demae has no shortage of musical talent and shows a unique, dreamy quality in her delivery to match the mood of “Stuck in a Daze.” The single also finds Demae collaborating with a stellar cast of artists from London including Ego Ella May, Joe Armon-Jones, and production from Eun.

“Stuck in a Daze” is one of those songs where the title, music, and lyrics are perfectly aligned as Demae describes the feelings of an absorbing new love. Her passionate vocals fit right in with Eun’s patient, hazy beat while Armon-Jones and Ego Ella May provide extra flourishes that take the track to new heights. With an understated yet subtly sophisticated and accessible style, Demae proves on “Stuck in a Daze” that she is comfortable as the center of attention, and with an all-star team of artists in her corner, she appears ready for a breakthrough debut LP.

Download "Stuck in a Daze" and pre-order Life Works Out… Usually here. The album is set for release September 4 via Touching Bass.
