Singer, rapper, producer, and songwriter, BLXST is out with a new single "Overrated," announcing that he will be dropping a brand new EP, No Love Lost. This announcement comes a month since his latest single release, "Slip & Slide".
"Overrated" is written and produced by BLXST, where he puts his melodic rapping style on full display with this west coast groove. An almost chorus pedal guitar effect is plucked without many other layers on the special guitar-driven production. This sound creates a simple and satisfying, gentle tune for him put mellow raps over.
BLXST began his solo music career in 2015 in Los Angeles writing and producing his own releasing multiple singles independently. He gained notoriety after working with other California artists like Kendrick Lamar, YG, Eric Bellinger, Mozzy, and more. His big-name collaborations and fans alike appreciate his total involvement in his craft and this was ultimately the reason he partnered with Red Bull Records.
No Love Lost is slated to be out for release on September 4, with a preview trailer released alongside "Overrated." BLXST is on the move and for someone with his musical ability, being overrated is truly the opposite of what he is. He told EARMILK, “I want people to know I'm here to create timeless music and raise the bar. I want to eventually be known as one of the goats from LA."
