Los Angeles-based internet pop provocateur Aris Maggiani, or sakehands, returns with new music. Elusive and enigmatic, "THINK ABOUT ME" follows his previous single, "TOY" that broke his two-year hiatus of originals works earlier this year
Reconnecting with vocalist and frequent collaborator Lo, together they fully lean into the Y2K-era R&B aesthetics that flavoured their previous collaborations and much of sakehands' humble catalogue of instant classics so far. Without losing an ounce of his sonic distinction, Maggiani forwent some of his mind-altering future pop quirks to accommodate this, a testament to the chameleonic nature of his production skill.
On the surface, "THINK ABOUT ME" performs like an amber-hued, seductive slice of envelope-pushing R&B, but as he explains in an email statement,"'THINK ABOUT ME' is my severely petty way of asking people I used to be with if they still think about how all of their likes, dislikes, interests and basic likeable personality traits came directly from me. I think a lot of people can relate but maybe don’t want to say it out loud."
