Glasgow’s Dalfie has joined Monki’s &Friends imprint to release his new two-track EP, Speaking Of Dungeons. Largely influenced by his rave-loving Father, Dalfie spent a decade DJing in and around Glasgow before dipping his toes into the world of production. His newest EP marks some of his best work yet, and it’s easy to see why he’s been making a splash over the past few years.
Title track “Speaking Of Dungeons” is seven minutes of stripped back, acidic groove which is peppered with lasers, bleeps and distorted vocals. A track which is brimming with energy, it’s easy to see why Dalfie has had so much support on this one already. The multifaceted layers make “Speaking Of Dungeons” a tune for almost any setting or occasion; be it the club, a festival, or even just dancing round the house – this one’s got you covered.
“The Show” offers more percussive elements, with the first half of the track giving off major fiesta vibes. Perfect summer listening for those sunny days in the garden. As the track unwinds, acid stabs and more distorted vocals come into play to turn the track into a dancefloor-ready anthem. The second half of the track really shines and turns it into a standout on the EP — though this doesn’t take away from how good “Speaking Of Dungeons” is. The only accurate way to describe the EP is proper party music, from start to finish. It’s a great mood-lifter.
Speaking Of Dungeons can be streamed via Spotify and purchased via Beatport.
