Emerging rapper and singer Zandra Kaye's latest single "Know Your Roll" is about taking chances with confidence. Kaye has that attribute in abundance as she shows her versatility as both a singer and emcee. It's also clear that she is stress-free, self-aware, and taking control of her choices in this latest video.
"Know Your Roll" is a feel-good track that harkens back to the '90s with its boom-bap styled drums and lush instrumentation (courtesy of WifiOG). From the jump, Kaye stays in the feel-good zone and gives the listener a glimpse into how she operates on the daily. Her demeanor is particularly striking as she switches effortlessly between singing and rapping over the slapping drums and moody organs reminiscent of early DJ Premier beats.
"Know Your Roll" is Kaye's third video and was shot by her longtime collaborators Robby Bryant, Nsami Aarons, and LJ Avalos and directed by herself. The video follows the feel-good theme with a somewhat zany approach in various DIY styled shots. From shopping with her crew to an all-ladies party or a fake phone camera shoot, Kaye is just soaking up her life experiences without any pressure from the outside.
