Returning with another glorious single, Dublin quintet Silverbacks release the visuals for their new single "Up The Nurses". This time, Silverbacks' bassist Emma Hanlon takes centre stage with her silky smooth 80s inpsired vocals. This is tin-foil-shiny gold.
Drawing on an array of new wave influences, "Up The Nurses" features jazzy guitar motifs and articulate bass lines. Steadied by smooth drum beats, the track is a super addictive number from one of the band's making 2020 worth being present for. Produced by Daniel Fox from fellow Dublin band Girl Band, the single draws on typical Silverbacks' traits whilst injecting a fresh hit of wavy attitude.
Explaining the track's creation, Emma Hanlon explains, "I love Blondie and Kilian overheard me singing along to them one night. A few days later he surprised me with our very own new wave jam. The song talks about "amour fou" (mad love) and the unwanted adoration someone receives for the care they're giving someone."
Twinned with a set of visuals that create the band's "own weird world", they have yet again hit it out of the park with another incredibly infectious tune. With their trajectory seemingly heading onwards and upwards, the Silverbacks' train is one to jump on quickly. Their debut album Fad is definitely one to keep an eye out for next month.
Fad is out July 17th via Central Tones.
