"Heart Food for Hard Times" is a soulful collaboration with Adam Garrett that boasts a familiar and nostalgic feel to it. The production masterfully blends various keys, trumpets and drums to create a moving and ethereal sound. Nealo's pen game is at a whole new level on this as the confessional style vocal delivery almost depicts the reading of memoirs from a past lover. An honest feeling of pain is expressed through his vivid storytelling wordplay.
The chorus is that ear to ear smile moment on this record. The nostalgic and memory inducing hook is a blend of all the best parts of the record presented in a concise and beautiful moment.
Nealo has made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene in Ireland and with a debut full-length album due out later this year. His debut EP October Year came out in 2018 and has already helped him reach major festival stages and headline shows across the country. He has since dropped a slew of singles such as "Just My Luck" and "Angel on my Shoulder" and recently signed to Diffusion Lab Records who boast the likes of Jafaris and Soulé on their roster.
