Soda Blonde return with "isolation – content"

There have been good things about isolation. One of them is Soda Blonde's isolation – content EP, which dropped yesterday on Bandcamp. The Dublin quartet have spent their respective quarantines churning out a body of impressive alt pop reflective of strange times.

"I Hear Birdz" kicks off the four track offering, mellow instrumentation and soundbite clips give way to singer-songwriter Faye O'Rourke's dulcet tones. A couple irresistible hooks later (courtesy of "Motion"), "June" proves to be one of the group's most beautiful and introspective tunes yet: it's a glittery, jazz-tinged ballad, with properly stunning vocals.

isolation – content is a balm for the long days of lockdown. The group – comprised of O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Dylan Lynch and Donagh Seaver O'Leary – have been playing together for over a decade, and the rare musical balance they've achieved is the hard evidence of those years of work. The Coronavirus may have derailed their summer tour schedule, but they're better than ever.

isolation – content is available for purchase on Bandcamp.
