Straight out of Switzerland comes the rap collective Captains Of The Imagination, made up of Dr. Koul, Evita Koné, and Imagine. The trio has been putting in work in the Swiss hip-hop scene and with three albums under their belt, they are reinventing themselves now with a blend of traditional hip-hop and contemporary musical styles. Their latest release is the video for the lead single "We Are," an introductory type record that showcases the group's strength as profound lyricists and songwriters.
Over the electronic-infused beat by Jean Jaille, the first salvo is delivered by Dr. Koul who brands himself with a proclamation, followed by Evita Koné's fiery melodic drawl. The track wraps up with the group's founder Imagine who delivers a spoken-word type verse laced with insightful elements regarding the prime objective of the trio. The track also has UK-based classical violinist Julian Azkoul playing a string arrangement that both complements and offsets the electronic sounds in the instrumental.
For the visuals, the recruit the help of French director Etienne Bortoluzz (aka Teto), and it was shot in Barcelona. "We Are" is taken from their recently released a 17-track album, When The Moon Goes Around The Sun. Stream the album on all platforms here.
