British YouTube sensation KSI continues to prove himself on his new single "Houdini". 2020 has already been massive with singles like "Down Like That", "Wake Up Call" and "Poppin" which featured the likes of Rick Ross, Trippie Redd and Smokepurp it is clear KSI is here to prove he can be as prolific as a rapper as he is as a content creator.
"Houdini" is a change of pace from the more American style singles that have come before from KSI. The track is an afro-centric hip-hop club banger that will bar sitting on the charts for weeks to come. UK titans Tion Wayne and Swarmz join JJ on this one and the chemistry is abundance. From the bouncy production and infectious drum pockets to the catchy flows produced by both KSI and Tion Wayne respectively are fantastic. Not to mention, the chorus is by far one of the catchiest and stickiest I have heard in a long time and the Lauryn Hill interpolation is mesmerising by Swarmz.
With an already stacked album track list from features alone, KSI is here to prove himself. He has not only held his own on all the tracks but he has in fact excelled. It seems pressure just doesn't effect this man. This was evident in his victory in a professional boxing match against fellow Youtube star Logan Paul in the Staples Center in LA. Now he has come out of that and straight into the highly competitive music industry. After a sold out headline tour through the UK and Ireland before the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic, he now has one of the most hotly anticipated albums from the UK this year. The growth is truly beautiful to watch and I cannot wait to see what comes next from KSI.
