First emerging onto the SoundCloud bedroom beatmaker scene around 5 years ago, L.A. based singer, songwriter and producer Madnap has taken great strides forward with his sound and artistic output since. Initially sonically occupying a similar space to the likes of Electric Mantis and Hudson Mohawke, his production always sat in the "future" electronic pocket, a defining feature of his sound which he now applies to his poppier, vocal-driven tracks. The most notable and somewhat recent addition is his own vocals, which ushers in a new chapter of his sound, one that will no doubt be extensively explored on his recently announced debut album.
"Silhouettes," which features the vocal talents of Little Shadows, is a melancholic electronic cut that weaves together subtle elements of indie, contemporary R&B and dance into a driving three and half minute foray. Following “Slow Down” and “Throw It All Away”, "Silhouettes" only proves to further whet appetites further for this inspired artists' debut project, and elucidates in the email press release as "my favorite song I’ve made yet. I believe it perfectly captures what the sound of Madnap was always meant to be. What started as a simple idea was later brought to life with the help of my longtime friend Little Shadows and eventually, stemmed into the creation of my first album."
