Following on from the release of "Caught Up" in 2019, Toronto artist NOA has returned with her first release of 2020 titled "Motions." A song that touches on the theme of post-breakup relationships, it takes us through the emotions of being on your own for the first time with her soaring, smooth vocals complimenting the mix of soul, pop, and R&B throughout the single.
Taking inspiration from her very own life, NOA wrote "Motions" on Valentine’s Day last year in Los Angeles following a breakup she experienced. Being back in Los Angeles made her remind herself of a previous partner, she thought about all the peaks and valleys of their past relationship, the good and the bad experiences.
While the latest single might sound familiar to what NOA has presented in previous releases, this sees her working with her producing partner Jonathan Asperil on a much slower, delicate song. "Moions" showcases the growing aspect of NOA's range as a relatively young artist that still has a lot to learn and production aspects of her style, featuring keys, clicks, and digital beats.
