South Florida's own, Aklesso drops his long-awaited single this week, "Wodie." The Gawvi produced song consists of the repeating anthem, "big top 40, me and my wodies", where he shouts out his crew. The new single is a high-energy crew anthem that drives hard with an 808-heavy beat. The term, "wodie" is southern slang for a good friend, or homie.
The video was directed by Anler Sire. Aklesso and his 'brodies' convince a Miami police officer to trade his vehicle for a box of donuts. They begin to drive around their city having a day out in the cop car, impersonating an officer.
This single has been teased by Aklesso and his fan base for about half a year now. His peers and fans would constantly comment and hashtag #dropwodie in every Instagram Live or Twitter thread.

You can hear artist, WHATUPRG inserting one bar on the second verse saying, "homie, don't forget to live, life is more than just some commas." In the summer of 2019, Aklesso went on tour in support of Atlanta rapper WHATUPRG. This record was birthed in August during that tour.
Aklesso, 25, expressed via Instagram that there was a moment while hanging with friends, he was feeling insecure in regards to where he stood in his career. His brothers encouraged him and rallied around him by letting him know his time will come. They recorded "Wodie" soon-after.
