Cosmo's Midnight and Ruel link up for "Down for You"

Electronic production duo Cosmo's Midnight has teamed up with singer Ruel on an alluring track entitled "Down For You." It's a track that will leave you wondering, "Is this R&B? Electronica? Pop? Soul?" As we know with genre, in the end, all that matter is the feeling we're left with listening to new music, not the categorical box it ticks. And "Down For You" does just that, bringing together groovy production together with a moving, seductive performance from Ruel.

Cosmo and Patrick Liney of Cosmo's Midnight and Ruel met at the Australian festival Groovin The Moo in 2018, where they got together for an impromptu performance on stage. From that moment, "We immediately knew we had to write a song together," they said in a press release issued today. Though it took a few years to make it happen, it's as if the three have worked together for years.

"Down For You" follows the release of Ruel's sophomore EP released in September 2019, and a string of singles from Cosmo's Midnight that watched them both solidify their sounds. Here's hoping this only continues for these rising Australian artists.
