Indiana native Mic Strong first appeared on the scene in 2012 with his debut mixtape Overdue before taking half a decade off to focus on himself artistically and spiritually. He returned in 2017 with a clear mind and new EP FOuR FUN and has since been releasing new music. On his newest release entitled "Vice City," he taps into the spirit of the Bad Boys film series and GTA video games to deliver a groovy, polished jam that is both modern and nostalgic in many ways.
The track is all about appreciating the good life and what more can represent that feeling than an uplifting instrumental made up of bright keys, rattling basslines and vintage horns. Mic Strong is definitely at home on this tune and uses his grasping vocal flow to complement the nostalgic instrumentation. He also retains his lyrical integrity without going over our heads with excessive punchlines and whatnot, simply reminding us that it's all about savoring the vice city life before it all fades away.
