American Authors start 2020 big with another of their signature anthems. The determined new single “Microphone” showcases quirky flares, stomping percussion and brazen vocals while maintaining the four-piece’s utterly infectious sound.
The confident track emphasizes the importance of taking ownership of yourself and standing up for who you are and what you want. In a world full of noise, it’s crucial to be heard and to not take no for an answer. Bassist Dave Rublin shares, “'Microphone' is a song about owning your power and fighting to be heard in a loud world.” The Brooklyn-based band have been releasing hit after hit since their viral track “Best Day of My Life” took the world by storm. Rublin, along with singer Zac Barnett, guitarist James Adam Shelley and drummer Matt Sanchez, have truly perfected their concoction of catchy melodies, powerful vocals and dynamic rhythm section. Their continuous slew of alternative anthems sees us yet to come across something that lacks in the undeniable roaring sounds of American Authors.
