On the heels of his remix of Habstrakt’s “The One,” Parisian producer Asdek returns with a banging original offering "Nightmares," a bass house cut that transports listeners into a wild cyberpunk dystopia.
The track was started during a studio session between Asdek and his friend Erin. "When she tested the mic, she made out this creepy voice about nightmares, and I loved it. So we built a track around a voice in my nightmares, talking to me, and playing that creepy house music like something out of a horror movie," he adds. Revolving around whispery multidimensional female vocals, traces of the producer's signature gritty basslines ebb and flow in the muffled low-end. Cosmic synth lines and brooding energy are intertwined together, intimately professing a visceral nature and minimalistic aesthetic. Littered with infectious bass, “Nightmares” is something born out of the most sinful of dreams — the Parisian's usual devilish sonic demeanor is fully displayed here.
