Dirty South knows beauty, and it's in "All I Need" [Exclusive]

Dirty South has released his latest single, "All I Need." The track is a vocal collaboration from the Australia-based artist known as Dragan Roganović to family and friends. An accomplished DJ and producer, "All I Need" is another notch in an impressively oversized belt for Dirty South.

Following the release of the four track EP Little Devious in August, Roganović decided to do what he loves to do most and switch things up for his next release. As in all of his music, melody is a main focus. "All I Need" is layered with progressive melodies, a slight melancholy, arpeggios and an infectious and danceable beat. He is a wizard with vocalists, with a resume of hits like "City of Dreams," "Find A Way" and "Alive" among his originals that remain favorites in the dance music community.

But he's moved away from those big room beats, and even from the darker underground of his latest release back into more progressive territory. He has linked back up with Marion Amira, who he had worked with in the past. "Boy, if I was still making the same exact music that I did maybe nine years ago, or 10 years ago, or 15 years ago, I don't think I would be able to sustain my sanity" he says over the phone this week from his home in Australia. Not one particular element of anyone's music is guaranteed to succeed, and for him, chasing previous success isn't authentic either. "It's nice not to repeat exactly that, and try something different and see how people respond."

This, and a lot of Roganović's recent music, has been in a new phase of his career. "I found a really good balance," he says. "I used to tour a lot. But in fact, when I first started, I was making a lot of music. And I was just trying to make a name for myself and for people to find out who I was." He went from touring a lot to touring even more, with shows every week and weekend. "In the last two or three years, I have have kind of made a switch where it's more balanced. I'll do like two months worth touring in support of a project that I just released. And then I go back to the studio for like two or three months." Now, touring inspires his future music, and vice versa. After this time in the studio, touring will surely come next.
