London-based singer-songwriter Davina Oriakhi's newest release "Tears" is a gripping heartfelt, afro-pop and soul-infusion.

On this one, she teams up with up and coming Nigerian producer Tiwa Dara who builds a canvas of alluring pop textures, lush electric guitar riffs, and West African percussions. Oriakhi is in her element here as she delivers a heartwarming performance augmented by her profound verses and the resounding chorus. "Tears" dives into Oriakhi's frustrations as an artist trying to juggle life, work and all the variables that come with it. The lyrics "tears I never cried" sure have a deeper meaning as she explains how she cannot cry on the outside due to (responsibilities) of her reality but regardless she turned lemons into lemonade and hopes this song will get the listener through bad times.

"Tears" is a sad song, built on a pop framework with the hope of pushing for more conversations to be had about the mental struggles of being creative.
