If you've seen Blond:ish live, this latest remixing endeavor fits the bill all too well. DJ, producer and eco warrior, Vivie-Ann Bakos, the newly solo act behind Blond:ish, has made a name for herself with smart, self-aware DJ sets that take her everywhere from Ibiza to Burning Man and Tulum. With live music choices that take an equally international journey, it's fitting that she has remixed Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti's track "Mr. Grammarticalogylisationalism Is the Boss." While it might not be his most recognizable track, (the 1975 original isn't available to stream on most platforms), it contains all of the soul and groove needed for a reboot with an added deep house edge. Bakos does due diligence in paying homage to the original while making two worlds meet in deserved time.
