San Diego's own producer and songwriter Lecx Stacy has decided to focus on his own musical world with his newest offering. Most recently Lecx's name has been making waves for his production on Jean Dawson's Bad Sports EP, and today he has decided to release his debut single "Beaded" off of his upcoming Faceplants EP via LEVEL. The eclectic indie-pop ballad is a poignant account of his experiences with a former love interest that has now turned into a hazy summertime memory.
The multifaceted creative had a broad range of influences while developing his personal sound, which includes seminal emo and punk bands such as My Chemical Romance & The Bad Brains to hip-hop royalty such as OutKast & Wu-Tang, as well as certain video games and b-horror movies of the 80s. If you look closely, you could find the bits and pieces from that array of inspirations in the direction of this song as he easily blends the airy indie-pop melody with dynamic hip-hop drum patterns and a rapper-lite vocal cadence. This combination makes for a wholly unique love song that provides a sweeping nostalgic feel about finding love in a strange place.
The date for the Faceplants EP has yet to be announced, but be sure to stay up to date by following him on his socials below.
