In the past two years, Michigan-born, LA-based artist CYN has notably landed in the pop world. Her newest single “Never-ending Summer” feels like it’s dropping at the exact moment we needed it. As the last weeks of August melt away, we have one last summer beat to convince us the season will never end.
The single begins with a bouncing rhythm that highlights CYN’s breathy vocals. The singer’s top notch range is nothing new: last year’s single “I’ll Still Have Me” was a heart-breaking display of her voice in ballad form. However, "Never-ending Summer" is a stage to show what she can do with a hypnotic beat backing her—and the result is dazzling. Spinning that voice into a dramatic, obsessive summer pop song is only the beginning for CYN this year. Her debut EP “Mood Swing” drops September 20th and I expect it will have all the same qualities held by this latest release.
