Electronic pop producer Goldroom has a sound that will keep you wrapped up in the bliss of warm beach weather, even though the season is coming to a close for a lot of us. The LA-based producer is known for bringing sleek, chilled-out sunset vibes both in song and with his High Seas Festival, which will be in New York this Saturday, August 24th. Over the past few months, Goldroom has shared a few singles from his forthcoming double album Plunge /\ Surface, including a track called “Nothing Matters.” Along with the announcement of his upcoming tour, today the producer has a video to share for “Nothing Matters,” featuring fellow LA-based artist Chela.

Josh Legg, the man behind Goldroom, says that “Nothing Matters” is a track about “alienation and feeling along in a world where only one thing matters.” The concept is reflected in the video, which was written and directed by Chela. It floats around her birthday party while laid-back Balearic melodies carry you through the party dynamics. The cool, breezy layers of tropical instrumentation along with the haze of Chela's vocal creates the perfect escape.

“Nothing Matters” will appear on Goldroom’s double album Plunge /\ Surface. The double album concept came from an interesting time in producer Josh Legg’s life. The darker, more psychedelic Plunge was recorded while recovering from a broken neck injury. Once resuming touring, Legg felt inspired by a beach rave in Croatia—the tunes reminding him of the funky sampled house that he loved at the start of Goldroom. He re-imagined the tracks of Plunge, sampling this first album to create its sister, the euphoric dance of Surface. The double album Plunge /\ Surface will be released on October 18th via Downtown Records. Check below for upcoming Goldroom shows.
