Melancholy and nostalgia are two facets of emotions intertwined in sentiment; in Rosemary Fairweather's latest single, "Where Birds Fly".
"Where Birds Fly" was written as a cure for my nightmares," Fairweather shares of the track. "I was having trouble shaking a recurring dream, and a friend suggested I try and 'score' my nightmares in an attempt to take control of them. It really worked, and this was the end result." Opening with a resonating drum pattern, Fairweather's signature breathy vocals fill the void, conducting the track in a dreamscape of emotive cadence. A moving piece of work swatched in a haze of satin and innocence, Fairweather effortlessly follows through with entrancing shimmers, rising beautifully for a soulful climax. It's a track that pulls you in with confidence and leaves you with warmth—enveloping us in a dream where we can soar high into the sky.
