Los Angeles surf, psych-rockers Allah Las are well-known for sun-baked, desert jams that harken back to the golden age of '60s rock n roll. We're proud to announce the return of the West Coast outfit with their rollicking new single "In the Air." In addition, the band is announcing a new album 'LAHS' out October 11th on Mexican Summer. Check out the light-hearted video here:
Beautifully shot on film, "In the Air" showcases the band in a Weekend at Bernie's-like situational comedy after guitarist Pedrum Siadatian gets zonked with a lethal dart leaving him as the proverbial "Bernie." The rest of the band embarks on a zany adventure that takes them whizzing down LA causeways and way above the smog in helicopters at sunset and riding in hot air balloons with their fallen member. Pedrum flops about in proper ragdoll fashion. It sure is one for laughs and it is great seeing the band's goofier side.
The track itself is a jovial two-step bop that sways about with the effortless summer vibe we've grown accustomed to from Allah Las. What stands out about this track is the ability to stand on the sonic shoulders of the band's previous catalog and spread its wings even farther. A dose of more intricate arrangements flows through the song with a renewed vigor and energy. There's nothing stale about this song as it flies by, encouraging multiple replays.
