Intaya oozes carefree Caribbean vibes in new single 'Guaguancó'

London-based musicians and producers Intaya have released their latest single entitled "Guaguancó". A fusion of cross-cultural music, their intoxicating sound transports to a Caribbean Island with spicy Latin vibes. The track features sultry vocals atop intense electric soundscapes filled with vibrant bouncing beats.

“Guaguancó” narrates lead singer Pao Pestana’s dream of being back in Choroní in the North Coast of Venezuela under the Caribbean sun. The country’s magical coastline and stunning mountains were a huge source of inspiration for the song.

Intaya consists of Venezuelan born Pestana and London’s Dom Martin. They’ve managed to craft their own distinct style, showcasing a sun-soaked Latin flair in a London tube train.

Pestana explains, “I am naturally drawn to polar opposite styles of music, from very minimal composition, low-end frequencies and catchy melodies to complex compositions, arrangement and harmony. I guess these two worlds influences our music, once we merge them it feels less conventional, this makes my ears smile. We also take inspiration from visuals and situations we imagine, sometimes they come from our memories and dreams and others are completely made up or surreal."

Their first EP Not Your Typical Tropical Dream challenges the typical views of Latin women in pop music. It allows listeners to rethink the perceptions of different cultures, while also letting loose and moving to the music. Check out this colorful island tune out now.
