“Homegirl” comes with one of those flute-based sounds you can almost never forget. While the concept of the video is to be surrounded by friends while having fun, the song is friend-zone themed. Through the lyrics, Òlah sends a warning to anyone in her circle of friends who seeks more than friendship. She says “I’m not looking for a boyfriend, I just wanna be your Homegirl”. The video was directed by Kid Bookie and shot by Ash Riley.
Describing the making of the video, she said, “Until the night before the video shoot, I didn't have a clue who's going to be there or what we're shooting. I was praying for good weather. Although it was raining all morning, when we turned up to the location, the sun came out, everyone pulled up and we just have fun. It was one of the most beautiful days I've had, pure joy, no one was on their phone, people were actually "present" you know? Talking, laughing, jumping, I loved every second of it. Kid Bookie and Ash Riley did such a great job on the day. I took the footage from Ash when we finished and I did the edit. I've gone back to it a few times until I was happy, sent it for grading and boom, here we are. It was exactly what I had in mind, watching it makes me happy, and what you guys see, it's a bunch of friends having a great time, it wasn't forced or pretended, 100% genuine energy”.
