Drown in the sweet, sultry pools of Junia-T’s latest rhapsody, "Ooowee". A taste of his forthcoming album, Studio Monk, “Ooowee”’s sticky bassline and grimy string arrangements showcase Junia-T's ability to orchestrate a balance of breezy atmospherics and heavy accents. The producer-driven track boasts deep flavours; golden and aged like a chilled glass of rum on a warm summer day.
“Ooowee”’s timeless production is complemented by the syrupy vocals of Chatanooga crooner, Elijah Dax, who sets the song's smoky ambiance with finesse. The grimy hip hop-meets-jazz track pays homage to Biggie, with fragments of “Big Poppa” dispersed throughout the track. Junia-T shares with EARMILK, ""Ooowee" was made while I was out in Chattanooga creating with my extended family at a creative space called Flock House. We made a lot of music and I had to snag this one for Studio Monk. When I showed up on the first day, Eric Cromatie handed me an acoustic bass and the first thing my fingers played was the bassline for Ooowee. The rest is history."
"Ooowee"’s flawless musical tapestry is a testament to Junia-T’s skills as not just a producer, but a seasoned musician with a taste for sonic adventures. Junia-T's repertoire makes him an essential go-to creative in his native Toronto and abroad. When he isn't in the studio, Junia-T is out touring the world with singer Jessie Reyez as her DJ and longtime musical collaborator. Junia-T’s polished composing standards and his free-flowing vibes are undeniably winning people over everywhere.
