Opolopo designates "Groovitational Waves" for 'Poolside Ibiza'

Peter Major has been DJing and making music as Opolopo since 2002, so feels like a long time coming as he steps up to the plate to mix the 2019 edition of Toolroom Records' summer series compilation, Poolside Ibiza. Using Opolopo, the Yoruban word with a wide-spanning meaning including “plenty”, “much” or “many," Major has cultivated a holistic, global outlook in his music, working in everything from jazz to disco and house: all music that aligns well with that which soundtracks Ibiza's world famous peak party season. Offering multiple exclusive originals across the 27-track release, "Groovitational Waves" stands out, with production that feels like it's backed by a 10-piece funk band warming the party up at the beginning of the night. Each instrumental piece on its own is enough to get people dancing, but together, the track is a reminder of the power funk and electronic elements can wield when put together.

Stream the whole release via Spotify here.
