Staten Island, New York's own pop duo Fly By Midnight are kicking off the first day of summer with their latest tropical-pop single "Waking Up."
Making feel-good pop music is an area that Fly By Midnight excel in and "Waking Up" is no exception. The track's energizing and warming production is electric, falling somewhere on the spectrum of playlist placement that makes it equally as appropriate to blast on a drive to the beach as it is to blast through the speakers in a club. "Waking Up" has an ear-worm of a chorus, burrowing itself in the listener's mind after just one listen and keeping them running the track on repeat for more. It's the kind of track you find yourself humming to yourself whenever you happen to have some quiet time.
"Waking Up" will be featured on Fly By Midnight's upcoming album, which is slated for a release later this year. By the time it arrives, the duo will have ample tracks to ease the transition from summer to autumn, no matter how wonderful or dreadful the weather is where you are. The sophomore album will follow up the duo's 2018 debut Rerunning, which EARMILK first caught up with them to talk about ahead of its release.
