And the summer tracks keep coming. This week, the 23-year old Brooklyn rapper Flipp Dinero has released the visual for his romantic, summery track “If I Tell You”.
For this popular song, Flipp Dinero tapped in with another New York native to direct the music video, Teyana “Spike Tee” Taylor. The visual for “If I Tell You” goes hand in hand with the song, reflecting an early 2000s love story which seems to be taking place in New York. From the sitting at a diner eating french fries to roller skating at the local skating rink, the details of this visual encapsulate the typical young love story that we all can’t help but get drawn into.
The music video draws inspiration from Chris Robinson’s 2006 film ATL representing two young teenagers in love and an overprotective father that sometimes gets in the way. “If I Tell You” is already a popular track that has racked up over 4 million streams since it was released and the new visual for the song will add to it being a hit.
Although Flipp Dinero's released his first EP just 2 years ago, his rap career has already taken off. The popular hit “Leave Me Alone” by the Brooklyn native took over the music charts coming in at #1 on Urban Radio and Flipp Dinero has already been consigned by Drake and DJ Khaled. As much as the artist has been succeeding in the rap game, Flipp Dinero reminds us that he wants his fame to represent more than just hit songs. “I do not wish to be someone who makes cool music. I want to be known as a man of character,” he claims.
