Paris based production trio MRGR are back in business with the release of their long-awaited 7 track EP titled 'Noisy Neighbours'.
'Noisy Neighbors' follows the Chuuwee assisted single "Human Being" last year and is an artistic and organic meeting between producers and the artists involved resulting in a very balanced EP.
The new project opens and closes with "Stars & Stripes" and "Long Time Gone"- two instrumental tracks that help keep things in a storybook order. The former is a very lush soulful jam peppered with soothing vocal samples while the latter sounds more like a goodbye from the producers. The other acts featured on the project include Hugh Augustine on the previously released "Sunday's Best", Brooklyn rapper Chelsea Reject on "No Discussion", Bizzy and Kota The Friend on "Wish you well" and "On My Way" respectively.
Hugh's "Sunday's Best" sees him reminisce about his childhood and all the ups and downs that made him who he is over the futuristic west coast G funk styled soundscape. On the contrary, Chelsea Reject shares with us the struggles of being a woman in these crazy times on "No Discussion", this she does with a fiery performance and melody laced chorus reminiscent of Bone Thugs. The records with Bizzy and Kota The Friend exude similar vibes with their solemn, reflective textures and subject matter with Bizzy being more energetic. The last feature is the aforementioned "Human Being" with Chuuwee who goes into full contemplative mode.
The EP's cohesiveness makes for an unobstructed listening experience and shows the thoughtfulness and intent the trio put into each track as opposed to just throwing verses over random beats.
