Young Franco enlists Two Another for groovy remix of "Otherside"

Young Franco may be an accomplished remix artist, but he recently chose to let others do the reworking on his latest single “Otherside.” The original track from the Australian producer was already a banger that featured guest spots from vocalist Reva DeVito and fellow Aussie Golden Vessel. For one of the remixes, released via Of Leisure, Young Franco brought in the London-based duo Two Another for a remix that retains the original version’s funk and swagger while bumping up the tempo to make it ready for dance floors.

Two Another breathe new life into “Otherside” with the simple adaptation of implementing live instrumentation. While the original certainly isn’t lacking in style, the live instruments, particularly in the bass, give an added dimension that harkens back to the heydays of disco and boogie when bass was consistently a prominent element in the mix. Two Another even add in an infectiously thumping funk outro to the remix which only lasts a few moments but will definitely keep listeners moving. In a true achievement for Two Another, the remix sounds as if it could be the original version of the song, making “Otherside” a multi-faceted success for Young Franco.
