Queensbridge representative Truth calls up fellow QB native and hip-hop veteran Tragedy Khadafi for the remix of his single "TNT". It’s a Queens thing on this one as Large Professor remixes the album cut giving it a vintage, head rocking vibe as the duo go back to back with the verbal jabs. In addition to the beats and bars, Rocksteady’s own DJ JS-1 provides the scratch chorus by fusing quotables from Queens’ luminaries, Mobb Deep, ATCQ, LL Cool J, and Run DMC.
The visuals are directed by Tha Embassy Elite, who also directed Truth’s previous video, “Mic Like Boom,” which featured a more effects-heavy approach. For the “TNT Remix,” however, we’re treated to a more stripped-down, grounded affair reminiscent of some of the best rap videos of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Shot in their native borough, Truth, and Tragedy are surrounded by their respective crews as they kick their bars. We also see shots of a b-boy doing his thing on the pavement. It’s almost like a visual blueprint of what makes Hip-Hop such an enduring culture, and it’s set to one of the harder tracks to drop this year.
"TNT" is the third and final video taken from The Fight for Survival LP from the Q-Boro rapper. The 15 track LP which also includes guest appearances from ILL BILL, Royal Flush and The Barbarian is available now on vinyl via Fat Beats, Tuff Kong, and Get On Down, who also have copies shipping on CD.
