UK singer/songwriter Rayon Nelson's new single "Where Were You" caught our ears with its silky tones and heartfelt energy. Inspired by his own personal story, the song is an aural representation of his bottled up emotions and the perfect outlet for the man to question where his absent father was when he was young. He starts off on a reflective note, acknowledging the lack of a father figure while growing up and how that didn't stop him from becoming a man in his own right. Rayon goes deeper with this emotionally complex and resentful yet forgiving desire. The solemn guitar riffs and soft keys sure give the song's premise that feeling of closure as Nelson's canny melodies and warm vocals pulls the listener deep into the action.
