Soul singer Julius Cowdrey has put out his dazzling double release. Entitled “If This Is Love (I Must Hate You)” and “Better Day”, both singles detail a difficult time in his life and convey being let down by the ones you loved. “I have been heartbroken not just by the music industry but also by the girl I thought was the love of my life and I am proud to say I have come out on the other side a stronger and more mature individual, “ he reveals.
“If This Is Love (I Must Hate You)" was produced by Benji Totten (Jorja Smith, Kate Stewart, Sasha Keable) and co-written with Jack Hawitt (Zak Abel, Karen Harding, Blue, Embody). Featuring passionate vocals, profound lyrics and shining percussion, the striking track is emotionally fused with a raw intense energy. Not wanting to write another song about a girl, the narration disguised as heartbreak eludes to the cut-throat world of the music industry.
“Better Day” showcases Cowdrey’s flawless falsetto which glides gently atop the delicate piano and layered ethereal synths. The stunning track expresses the dismay and genuine feelings towards an ex. Cowdrey confesses, “I never expected it to happen, but I got cheated on. I lived trusting her every action and without my knowing I became victim to huge disloyalty”.
