Ascending Zurich sound bender Cella recently crossed my radar with his refreshing "Imperfection." The track nestles in a sonic sweet spot of danceable yet pensive electronic that can happily soundtrack any number of activities.
"Imperfection" manifests itself with a hauntingly distorted choir-like vocal sample, setting a vaguely otherworldly tone. Cella confidently launches listeners into a zen-like state with zippy, restrained synths and gentle bubbling melodies. But don't fully recline – Cella beckons you back with more alien-esque vocal treatments. The cooling yet confident nature of "Imperfection" will find a home on your deep thinking or after hours playlists.
Growing up in Switzerland, Lukas Schnider (Cella) split his time on the unlikely extra curricular duo of violin and semi-pro BMX racing. These days, the lauded young Swiss producer is putting the finishing touches on the follow up to his Prologue EP – Opportunity Cost, due May 17 via Quartz Records and Universal Music.
