It's easy to tell when summer is approaching if you follow new music releases. As April nears, the sheer volume of releases themselves increases noticeably, and in the electronic music scene, the kinds of sounds we hear shift to gear up for festival season. German tech house artist Anne Ka, known professionally as Pretty Pink, will release her first work of 2019 with that intention in mind. Her three-track Blooming Danser explores expansive electronic music sounds driven by everything from ambient to house and disco's ancestry. With track names apt for the seasonal change, "Melting," "Blooming," and "Danser," the EP's own energy flows like a DJ set, beginning in deeper chill out sounds and culminating in full on house.
Out via Wanderlust on March 29, Ka has joined us for an exclusive guest mix to kick off the release and our weekends, and like the EP, it quickly picks up the energy needed to propel us into the next week.
