Manchester's music scene is riding the crest of a huge wave right now. Some of the cities acts have been getting recognition globally, as they continue to push the new sound of Manchester to the world. One such person who has been at the forefront of the Mancunian push over the past couple of years is the multi-talented KatBrownSugar, who juggles DJing, producing AND singing. Her latest release, Pink Trees, is a slick five track EP that pays homage to her roots in Neo-Soul, R&B and Jazz music.
More recently, Kat has seen her DJ'ing skills take her across to Los Angeles to support one of the hottest artists around at the moment, Kodie Shane, when she played The Echo in February. This show threw Kat in front of a whole new room of ears, and her set went down incredibly well. We grabbed the young Mancunian to do an exclusive mix for us here at EARMILK, with the simple premise that her mix is all about HER. Whatever she wants to throw in, whether it's championing local artists or global superstars, she can do. What came out is an eclectic mix of rap, R&B and other genres that is perfect to kick back and relax as you listen to the blends.
