Jacob and Fanny explore the depths of vulnerability in "Hold on to Me" [Premiere]

For many people, being in a couple means binge-watching The Office, suffering through smelly Dutch ovens and taking at least one nauseating "hand-in-hand" Instagram picture, among many other delightful instances. What the vast majority of them don't get to experience, however, is the chance to make music together. Enter Jacob and Fanny, a duo making serious noise out of Los Angeles with their bold electro-acoustic pop sound. EARMILK has the distinct pleasure of premiering Jacob and Fanny's new single "Hold on to Me." An intoxicating ballad from their debut self-titled EP, the single masterfully toes the line between wistful and kinetic throughout its emotional tightrope of an indie pop arrangement.

Acoustic guitar plucks and lush synth work are at the forefront of "Hold on to Me," gliding seamlessly under the duo's poignant lyrical work. The lyrics are more melancholy than they are emboldening, touching on the fact that many people build walls during relationships and have a difficult time overcoming their vulnerability. The track's chorus hearkens back to the happier times of those relationships, as Jacob croons, "Hold on and I won't judge you / won't you let me love you and you'll see / how easy it could be if you hold on to me."

If their debut EP is any indication, this power couple, now an independent act after a stint with Epic Records, is primed for a monster year. You can get in touch with Jacob and Fanny via the links below.
