CUT_ – pronounced cut underscore – were introduced to EARMILK readers earlier last year, with their emotionally charged single "It's On," and the distinct notion of the universality of human nature that they express through their songwriting. Today the Amsterdam duo returns with a message on love, loss and relationships. Their new single "Love & Alcohol" comes drenched in hazy summery pop tones but speaks to a deeply personal and darker undertone of boozy nights and infidelities.
Alongside a new video, "Love & Alcohol" tells a passionate story about endings and new beginnings. The music video by Magenta Films and art director Lisa Helder flows through different characters who represent various aspects of the protagonist's personality, as she figures out where her real love exists and who she longs for. On this Valentine's Day, Cut_ are working through a different message but one above all, that love can conquer. Their debut LP A Small Group Of Individuals will be released on February. 22nd!
